Caching CD Server
From Kintronics

CD/DVD-Drives Plus Hard Disk Caching
Plug-and-Play CD-ROM Server

The TurboCD Tower/Servers are the ultimate in CD-ROM and DVD-ROM networking. They are ideal for multimedia applications and are very economical. The CD/DVD-ROM Tower Server is a totally integrated network appliance with CD-ROM drives (or DVD-ROM drives), hard disks, a modular thin server, and tower enclosure. It features a fast and powerful modular CD-Server that allows CD titles to be cached in hard disk drives. It's a total solution that installs in minutes. It's a cinch to use, yet provides very high performance.

We have many different configurations.  Some CD applications perform best when cached in a hard drive, and some only work in a CD-ROM drive. These Turbo tower/servers combine the best of both worlds. They support CD/DVD-ROM drives, CD-Changers, CD-Recorders and hard drives in many different configurations. It works well with program and data discs that are networkable, but doesn't work with non-networkable discs such as some educational and game discs. If you have non-networkable discs, take a look at the SuperTurbo Server which does work with all types of discs.

Includes Hard Disk Caching: The TurboCD Tower/Server comes with a sophisticated caching technology that automatically caches the CD or DVD-ROM discs to the installed hard drive. You can install over 200 GB of hard drive storage, allowing over 250 volumes to be cached. It's very easy to cache and remove CDs. The CD server can be set to automatically cache a CD when it is inserted in the CD-ROM drive. A title can be removed from the cache by just clicking on the delete button.

Very Cost Effective: It costs less to cache a CD-ROM disc in a hard drive then to keep in a CD-ROM drive or even a small jukebox, making these solutions very cost effective.

MultiMedia Capability: With the Turbo technology, you'll access your CD-ROMs at hard drive speeds on 10/100BaseT Ethernet networks. When it is connected to a 100 Mbit network, you can share multimedia CD titles on the network. The high performance server supports the fast data transfer rate required to send video, animation and digitized audio data over the network.

Complete Network Support: TurboCD comes network ready. It's truly plug-and-play. The CD-Server networks and manages CD-Drives and hard disks on NetWare, Apple, Windows NT, Windows 2000 and UNIXnetworks concurrently. It simultaneously supports multiple protocols

Easy, Seamless Sharing: TurboCD tower/servers operate with unmatched simplicity right out of the carton. Provides Web Browser access so network users can point-and-click all the CD titles. The server appears in the network neighborhood and can be mapped to a single drive letter.TurboCD is an independent network appliance, its operation neither affects nor is impacted by the network file server. TurboCD appears as a Windows NT and/or a NetWare server on your network, and can be accessed as such. Hundreds of users can simultaneously access CD titles with unmatched ease and simplicity.

Easy to Manage:  A Web Browser is used to to configure the TurboCD Tower/Server. It allows you to cache CD images, view statistics, provide CD-Title license control, and set up security by individual and group. Your server is never out of date - you can download the latest firmware as it becomes available.

CD-Recorder Support: You can record CDs in the built-in CD-recorder from anywhere on the network. Users can write to up to 4 recorders at the same time. The TurboCD Tower also supports R/W Recorders.
