Jukeboxes and Towers Supported Include:

Windows NT, 2000 and Novell Server Versions:

The software runs directly on Windows NT, Windows 2000 or NetWare servers, and provides native file access to all SCSI CD-ROM readers, towers, mini-changers, and many popular jukeboxes. Because there are no TSRs (Terminate and Stay Resident programs) or proprietary hardware, the product is completely scalable as your needs grow. The unique file system binds the directories of all CDs in all storage devices into a single, unified directory structure for archival applications, shows each CD as a sub-directory for imaging and COLD applications, or presents each CD as an icon on the desktop for published CD applications. With its multi-tasking architecture, SmartStor

Simple Administration
Because SmartStor is a native solution, any client attached to Windows NT or NetWare can access the SmartStor storage structure. There's no need for TSRs or proprietary hardware. Administrators can employ all the inherent features of the network operating system for security and access control. With SmartStor, there are no cryptic commands to learn.

Flexible Volume Management
SmartStor's sophisticated file system presents a collection of ROMs on a volume-by-volume basis, with each CD/DVD appearing as a sub directory off the SmartStor drive letter. For example, a 100-slot CD/DVD jukebox is viewed as 100 separate subdirectories. Each sub directory reflects the CD/DVD volume title or an alias. In addition, administrators can organize titles into groups for easy management.

On-line Management
Administrators using SmartStor Access can perform all system management functions while the system remains on-line for users. Network clients accessing data will not be interrupted while media is being added or removed from the system. Mission-critical applications experience no downtime.

Express Cache
When rapid retrieval of data is critical to network clients, an administrator can utilize our award-winning Express Cache. Express Cache copies the contents of frequently used CD/DVDs to a hard disk while still presenting the data in the SmartStor file system. Client access time is comparable to hard disk speed. In addition, SmartStor Access provides usage statistics so an administrator can determine which CD/DVD titles to express cache.
